Blogging used to be the “coolest” thing to do online, at least that is how I remembered it to be when I was a teenager, long before the social media craze. Yet I was always “too cool” to jump on that bandwagon: no one, absolutely NO ONE, should know my inner thoughts, especially my parents!
The “parent” problem was solved though, automatically but unintentionally, by me moving to the United States. The “cool” problem was also gone, because blogging is probably the last thing a self-respecting teenager will do nowadays. So finally, I can blog freely!
The next problem is: what should I write about? I decided to stay in my “comfort zone”: review some books, TV shows and movies. I am not a native English speaker and have never systematically studied English or American (or any other languages) literature, so my limitation is quite obvious. However, I hope my perspective as a “semi-outsider” to America can contribute a tiny bit to the freedom of speech.
Not Born American, but here I am.
